Paleo Ketchup!

For some reason the idea of making my own condiments had always been intimidating. Last night, I made a meatloaf for a friend, (more on that later…) and what is meatloaf without ketchup? Am I right? I used organic ketchup for the meatloaf but it really got me thinking… it can’t be *that* hard… right? Well, I decided to find out!

Paleo Ketchup

  • 1 – 6oz can tomato paste
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 – tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 – tbsp Lea & Perrinsย worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Put ingredients into small saucepan. Bring to a simmer. DONE!

Ok… maybe I just love food.

Like… a lot.

The hardest part is waiting for it to cool to EAT it! The best part of making your own is that you can make it however you want! Like spicy? Throw a pinch of red pepper or cayenne in! Like thyme and rosemary? Do it. What about a curry ketchup? Seriously. Would be so good!

I made some sweet potato fries just to try out the ketchup (besides eating it with a spoon. Wait… what? I totally did not do that…)

    How long do you think this would keep in the fridge? We go thru ridiculous amounts of ketchup…I’d love to make bigger batch and keep it but I’m wondering how long it would last? Thoughts??

      I would say probably a week or two! If you go through lots of ketchup, I would definitely double or triple the recipe!
